VOL9 - AUREALIS AWARDS, PREORDERS AND BOOK LAUNCHES
Welcome to a series I’m posting directly to my website, for posterity, if you will. I’m documenting my old newsletters - a little trip down memory lane for me, and something of a manual into madness for those of you who find yourself in the nether realms of my website.

AUREALIS AWARDS, PREORDERS AND BOOK LAUNCHES

As always, we've got plenty of massive updates for you this month - each of these announcements could be their own email really, and I like to think that's a good sign!

AUREALIS AWARDS

I received some stunning news in the last couple of weeks that DARK SANDS has been named a FINALIST in the AUREALIS AWARDS, Australia's premier science fiction literary competition over the past 30 years. This is a sci-fi writing award that has been taken in the past by some truly massive names, and to even be mentioned alongside some huge names in traditional publishing is stunning. You can see my name on their website - and I'll also be flying up to Brisbane this weekend to attend the awards ceremony where the winners are announced!

DARK TIDES PREORDERS

DARK TIDES is officially available for preorder! I have spent the last month furiously learning how to format and organising proof after proof. It is with massive relief and excitement that I've opened up eBook preorders worldwide on Amazon here, and for all my Aussies, you can get signed paperbacks from my website here, with discounts if you purchase both books together.

DARK TIDES BOOK LAUNCH

Amidst all of this, I've confirmed the DARK TIDES book launch, officially taking place at Industrie Cafe on Thursday March 26, from 6pm. There's going to be raffles, readings and more - if you're around Geelong and any chance of making it, your support would mean the world to me!

OTHER UPDATES:

If all this wasn't enough, in the meantime I have been working furiously on DARK SOMETHING, the finale to the DARKWORLDS SAGA, which is now approaching 45K words and a really fleshed out plan for the remainder. I've revamped my website, continue to post regularly on Instagram and Tiktok, including some creative announcements and some really fun collaborations with other SFF authors with upcoming releases. There is the massive Aussie Book Fest event in Melbourne this weekend (which I'll be attending around my flights to Brisbane for the awards night) several markets, my book launch and Clunes Booktown all coming in March. Never a dull moment, but that's how it has to be!

Until the next one, and always,

With love, JSH <3
